What is your background and how did you come into the 3D space?
aha international media GmbH has its origin in postproduction. Through demands of some of our clients from commercials and image films we started first 3D test shootings at the end of 2009. Ever since we have created an experienced and skilled team and have produced over 10 stereo 3D projects, which we have edited in-house, as well.
Which title(s) have you produced?
We set up a 3D live shoot on the Panasonic center stage at IFA 2010, the international consumer technology trade show in Berlin, followed by several corporate live events and image movies. Among others we took part of a 360° 2D and 3D installation and entertainment sho at the Panasonic World Convention in London, 2011.
Furthermore, we realized a 3D project with live performance of Tango dancers and musicians, as well a classical music quartet and a pop concert.
Our upcoming production is a special format of classical music.
What was especially challenging in the production?
The big goal is to guarantee high quality of sound and image without losing this special live character. In addition, we want to create a ambience that is as intimate as possible.
Which equipment are you using?
It depends on the production. For music live productions we work with different Beam-SPlitter Rigs, Full HD Studio cameras and the Sony MPE 200 or the Fraunhofer STAN.
There is a lot of “bad 3D” in the market, what did you do to ensure highest quality standards?
Very important are constant productions where we keep training our team. Keep pace with the continuing revolution of gear and software. Many many test are necessary as well as more extensive productions.
Any other upcoming projects?
We have a number of different projects in development with main focus on bigger live events. Beside those own productions we are constantly working as 3D service producer for commercials and corporate movies and events.
