3D FILMUSIC FEST BARCELONA 2012 Announces Award Winners
Last week, Barcelona became the international focus of music in 3D.
3 events, 3 dates and 3 different venues where professionals and people in general enjoyed live music and 3D shows.
The Festival began at Comedia Cinema on 3 December with debates for key industry figures, top professionals and audiovisual students discussing the present and future of stereoscopic productions related to music.
With the special appearance of Joan Riedweg (music video director of Pastora, Manolo García, etc), Josep Maria Aragonés from Apuntolapospo, Ramon Dolz from Kronomav, Pauli Subirà from TV3 and Sergi Ovide from Ovide among other prominent directors and producers talking about their three-dimensional experiences.
On screen, highlights of 3D concerts with Alejandro Sanz, Bunbury, Violadores del Verso, the musical Llits and the music film productions participating in the competition, coming from different countries such as USA, England, Scotland, Germany, France, Poland, Finland, Italy and Spain.
An award giving ceremony took place after the screenings, see winners list below.
After the ceremony, the Catalan artist Litus sang live to present his fourth album AutoReverse.
On 5 December the 3D PARTY took place at DAMM’s old brewery. With live music by DJ Artist Matuke, Singers Faro and Litus. 3D screens displayed samples of the best 3D music videoclips of this year’s official selection.
And on 8 December at Havana Barcelona Club Restaurant, a dinner party in the VIP room was followed by the first 3D LATIN PARTY in Barcelona with latin music and 3D music films and fans.
Of the 23 selected films at this year’s festival, four were awarded the following prizes:
Award for Best Local 3D Production “Barcelona Prize”, to Jordi Pujadas for “Calaix de Dalt” song from the Album: ‘Mestres i Amics’ – Author: Ivette Nadal.
Award for Best 3D Animation to Dorota Kobiela, Poland. For “Little Postman” Chopin Shorts. Series based on the music of composer Frederic Chopin.
Award for Best 3D Documentary to Ivan Sertic, Germany. for the documentary “Tanzt!” With choreographer Xin Peng Wang – Dortmund Ballet.
Award for Best International 3D Production to Przemyslaw Anusiewicz and Janusz Martyn, Poland. For the video “Scarecrow” Chopin Shorts. Series based on the music of composer Frederic Chopin.
